Biomass energy is created by incineration of any organic matter to be used as fuel. Some of the organic materials used as a source for biomass energy include wood, sawdust, grasses, corn, sugarcane, farm waste (cow manure), and other plant life. Biomass is also being co-fired in existing biomass fired plant. Biomass plants can be pulverised fuel PF fired, grate fired or of CFB circulating fluidized bed type. For simplicity just the PF process is described.

KROHNE can address the supply of all major process control instrumentation across the entire power generation process and BOP. The industry specific solutions and products available meet the particular requirements of the power generation process like standards, materials, testing and documentation.
